How the Ecosystem Works

Energy Anchor: Geothermal Power

The 540-665 MW geothermal facility (deployed in three de-risked phases from 2026-2032) is the foundation, providing renewable power at 50% below grid prices. This cost advantage cascades through the entire system, making downstream operations more competitive while reducing environmental impact.

Integration Synergies

Unlike traditional industrial zones where operations compete for resources, Mentawai's design creates positive feedbacks:

  • Data centre cooling demand drives desalination
  • Desalination brine becomes mineral feedstock
  • Mineral outputs supply manufacturing and agriculture
  • Waste heat fuels downstream processes
  • Agricultural outputs reduce supply chain dependencies

Every percentage point of cost reduction and every revenue synergy flows directly to the Mentawai Conservation Foundation, expanding protection funding for Siberut Island.
